Introduction:
Paper Horse is focused on delivering independent, original content from equestrian sport. Founded in January 2024 by internationally-renowned sports journalist Sarah Eakin, Paper Horse is based in Wellington, Florida. It is the only publication showcasing the disciplines of Show Jumping, Dressage and Polo. Paper Horse’s content is often Wellington-based and coverage also extends internationally, reflecting the global reach of its audience.
To preserve the clarity and unique readership experience, we do not fund our publication with google adsense or other algorithm driven monetization, and instead prioritize a clean and user friendly interface that tastefully showcases our content alongside our Media Partners and Exclusive Sponsors.

Sarah has a long career as a sports journalist, specializing in equestrian disciplines writing for the major equestrian publications worldwide such as Dressage Today, Horse and Hound, Country Life, the Chronicle of the Horse, the Aiken Horse, Equus as well as national newspapers including The Daily Telegraph and The Daily Mail covering everything from Hickstead Show Jumping to Badminton Horse Trials in the UK to World Cup Dressage in Las Vegas and the Winter Equestrian Festival in the USA.
Sarah Eakin bio

Born in Surrey, England, Sarah Eakin started riding when she was 3 years old and grew up in Pony Club, competing in dressage – including the Pony Club dressage championships at Hickstead – show jumping, eventing and polo, winning the ‘Fluffies’ polo tournament at Cowdray Park Polo Club on a team with her brothers and current Hurlingham Polo Association Chairman, Will Lucas. She also hunted regularly and rode out for her mother, who trained national hunt racehorses. She continued to ride and play polo and was married to professional polo player Gary Eakin with whom she has a son, James.
She became Polo Correspondent to the newly-launched The Independent newspaper in 1989. She went on to work as a freelance writer for The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Mail as well as the Southern Daily Echo, where she worked on the Sports Desk for two years, covering tennis, motor racing and many other sports. She has written on equestrian sports for numerous publications worldwide as well as worked as the Editor-in-Chief for Hurlingham Magazine and International Polo Review. As a writer and photographer, Sarah provides the majority of the content for Paper Horse.
